Greg Hoffman

Of Counsel

Greg Hoffman is Of Counsel at the Bolin Law Group, where he serves as fractional general counsel and handles a wide variety of corporate, commercial, and employment matters. Before coming to private practice, Greg spent more than twenty-five years inside companies, including General Electric, Whirlpool, and Torc Robotics, the autonomous trucking business of Daimler Trucks/Freightliner. He held many different roles, including three times as Chief Legal Officer, Chief Compliance Officer for General Electric, and Chief Transformation Officer at Torc. Greg’s in-house background shapes how he works with clients today, ensuring he is fully steeped in the business strategy and approaching every transaction as an opportunity to further company goals.

Greg’s substantive practice centers on the commercial work that keeps a company running and growing. He negotiates and closes purchase agreements, distribution and supply arrangements, and joint ventures, and he counsels clients through the antitrust and competition questions that come with pricing, distribution, and consolidation. As a member of the deal team that sold GE Appliances to Qingdao Haier for $5.4 billion, Greg helped close the transaction in six months, and over his career he has led teams through more than a thousand commercial agreement negotiations and stood up joint ventures across Mexico, India, and China.

For companies that need senior legal judgment without a full-time hire, Greg steps in as a fractional general counsel. Greg holds a JD from the University of Richmond, an MBA from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, an MS in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University, and a BS from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He is admitted in Florida and Virginia.
